IPC Platform
The Secure IPC Controller is a hardened internet facing device with its own integrated firewall technology designed to defend itself in hostile environments. Its primary functions are to perform signaling and media validation and to provide the secure transmission of IP video and audio (SIP/H.323) packets without modifying or impeding the integrity of such packets. The Secure IPC Controller is positioned in the Internet Cloud and listens for secure connection requests from IPC Routers.

The communication between the IPC Controller and IPC Router is established via one single TCP (only)* TLS/SSLv3 AES 256 bit encrypted stream. Since IP video and audio media packets are primarily UDP, this single TCP porting technology is paramount when deploying an IP communication network in a security conscience environment where UDP traffic must be limited or eradicated altogether. Once the secure link between the Secure IPC Controller and an IPC Router has been established the solution then directs and disseminates all video and audio packet transmissions to their corresponding destination. The Secure IPC Controller features an intelligent integrated H.323 gatekeeper and/or SIP registrar for providing seamless interoperability with a myriad of devices regardless of their native transport protocol version, requirements or manufacturer. The Secure IPC Controller also acts as a management and update server for itself and IPC Routers that are connected via the TLS/SSLv3 AES 256 bit encrypted stream.
The benefits of the IPC Platform include:
- centralized solution management
- additional security for transport
- signaling and media streams
- expand the reach of network communication
- Securing the confidentiality of network information
- non-bridged resolution of isolated and disparate networks
- Secure single port firewall and NAT traversal.
The IPC Router is an intelligent and robust internal network (LAN) device. Its primary functions are to facilitate the routing, signaling and media validation of IP video and audio (SIP/H.323) packets without modifying or impeding the integrity of such packets. As with the Secure IPC Controller, each IPC Router also features an intelligent integrated H.323 gatekeeper (HR series router) and/or SIP registrar (SR series router) for providing seamless interoperability with a myriad of devices regardless of their native transport protocol version or requirements. IPC Routers also make provisions for a mixed protocol environment (MR series router) when it is required or necessary to facilitate a translation between transport protocols. Its communication includes:
- (SIP/H.323) enabled PBX
- MCU
- Video endpoints
- Gatekeepers
- Proxies and gateways
The IPC Router has the ability through its advanced patent pending routing technology to provide non-bridged resolution of isolated and disparate internal networks. The IPC Router is an indispensable tool when designing or updating networks that have been limited or never at all capable of secure IP communications. The IPC Router minimizes the time required of administrators for management and configuration, as well as offloading the majority of mandatory ACL’s and routing policies needed by traditional networking devices to facilitate secure IP video and audio communication. When paired with an IPC Controller the IPC Router becomes the initializing appliance within the Secure IPC Communications Platform.
* When the IPC Controller or IPC Router communicates with a H.323 device, the IPC unit will conform to the H.323 protocol. If an IPC Controller or IPC Router communicates with a SIP device, the IPC unit will conform to the SIP protocol. When an IPC Router communicates with an IPC Controller and vice versa, IPC units will conform to TLS/SSL protocol.
The STNS firewall traversal solution will route voice and video between disparate firewalled networks, often without the need to replace endpoints, routers, switches, PBX, or gateways.
